AEG LAVAMAT LW1450 WASHING MACHINE REVIEW

Looking inside the AEG LW1450 I can tell it is very similar to the Zanussi washing machines. AEG are slightly above Zanussi in quality but not that much. However, both washing machines are made by Electrolux.

This is a well made and solid washing machine. It’s quiet and stable on spin. It has a nice clean and simple design and controls. The control panel information is protected behind a plastic front which will keep it clean and protected.

The soap dispenser drawer is large and solid.

THINGS I DISLIKE ABOUT IT

The tub weights (which all washing machines have) are concrete and concrete tub weights tend to be susceptible to cracking and disintegrating over time although it’s mostly the cheaper washing machines that tend to suffer from this. Hopefully the quality of the material used here is better. Cast iron tub weights are best, but normally only fitted to the high end quality washing machines such as Miele ( RELATED INFORMATION: Miele washing machines build quality review )

THINGS I LIKE ABOUT IT

Very good build quality and nice clean, simple control design. It’s made in Germany where engineering quality us renowned. The washing machine is very easy to use

The water pump is nice and quiet. Many cheap washing machines have extremely noisy water pumps which is quite annoying.

SUMMARY

A well made washing machine. Recommended. The only caveat is (as with all the German washing machines) the price of parts and repairs tend to be higher.
