  1. I added another 1600rpm machine into the matrix Program............Premier 520......|.....W3240.....|.....W3364.....|.....W3922 Max spin speed .....1200rpm.............1400rpm.........1600rpm.........1600rpm Drum........................5kg.....................6kg H/C...........6kg H/C...........6kg H/C Minimum Iron........900rpm...............1200rpm.........1200rpm...........1200rpm Automatic..............900rpm................900rpm...........900rpm............1200rpm
  2. I find it strange why on lower models, the maximum spin speeds on certain programs are lower than on higher models, *even though the lower models can accomodate that spin speed*. e.g. all examples below refer to potential 1200rpm which all machines can spin at Premier 520 top spin speed is 1200rpm, W3240 is 1400rpm and W3922 is 1600rpm Program..................Premier 520......|.....W3240....|.....W3922........ Minimum Iron..............900rpm...............1200rpm.........1200rpm.......... Automatic....................900rpm................900rpm...........1200rpm..........
  3. Other things to consider the report was for 6 year old machines, if the period was extended to 15 years the reliability outcome might be different. But it depends how long you intend to keep a machine. 'If' the Miele endurance testing and lab testing is to believed then it might last better. Other than reliability, Miele machines clean and rinse better than Bosch I think, but AEG gives it a run for it's money (according to the Which? reviews) Miele, like my Mercedes will probably incur very expensive bills if it does break down. £200+ for a spark plug change £800 for a major service (Mercedes not Miele )
  4. You don't have a Miele vacuum cleaner? I did have one, but the extension wand broke. Apart from that I guess it was pretty reliable, until I accidently 'drowned it' then accidently 'killed it' by taking it apart to dry it out - which destroyed all the seal, and although it was working the dust was pumping out of the sides. (this was a HEPA enabled). Replaced it with an Electrolux HEPA only because Miele's are too large and heavy. I had an exclusive model (for a period), as it wasn't available yet on the market, and I bought it direct from the Miele head office...and the main marketing manager demo'ed it to me.. now that's service! - that was over 10 years ago.
  5. oh, just noticed the other main difference, the newer models are more ergonomic to load/unload, the porthole is higher up as the drum is mounted higher up in the body, has a wider door, and opens wider
  6. There is a difference between the 520 and the newer 1512 Which? tested both of them in a massive 71 machine group test. The 1512 is slightly faster in short wash cycle with 10 mins shaved off, and 4 minutes shaved off the easy care cycle The 520 rated poor in rinsing performance leaving more residues of detergent, 1512 and all other Mieles tested were rated acceptable in this area. However, the 520 was quieter rating good, the 1512 rated acceptable.
